On April 23 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, the City of Belleair Bluffs and the Town of Belleair (in conjunction with Pinellas County Emergency Management) will be hosting a hurricane symposium, titled “Sheltering in Place” at Belleair Bluffs City Hall (2747 Sunset Boulevard, Belleair Bluffs, FL 33770).
This event is being held in response to the questions and challenges brought forth from Hurricane Irma, and will largely focus on non-evacuation safety tips, including stocking up on supplies, shelter safety, caring for your generator, protecting your pets, tips for after the storm, and more. To accomplish this, the symposium will feature speakers from a panel of local experts that include Pinellas County Emergency Management, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Belleair Police Department, the Largo Fire Department, GenerX Generators, and more.
The symposium is free of charge, and the Belleair Community Foundation will be serving light refreshments. For more information, interested attendees may call Belleair Bluffs City Hall at (727) 584-2151, visit www.townofbelleair.com/hurricane-event, or search for the joint Facebook event, titled “Sheltering in Place: A Hurricane Symposium.”
