Deputy Mayor Karla Rettstatt

Karla Rettstatt and her husband, Larry Hineman, have lived in Belleair for 22 years.  They have a son Spenser who was born at Morton Plant Hospital. Karla's father, retired Lt. Col. Karl Rettstatt also lives with them.
Deputy Mayor Rettstatt is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Business Degree and has retired from a 20-year career as area sales manager with Kraft Foods.  Deputy Mayor Rettstatt believes that everyone must get involved in order to make a positive difference in our community. She is the founder and president of WONDERS Foundation, Inc.  WONDERS is a group of friends that have helped many families throughout Pinellas County through support like Gracie's Big Splash, The Arc of Tampa Bay and Pinellas Educational Foundation and other charity events. 

Previous Experience
Deputy Mayor Rettstatt previously served on the Town Commission from 2006-2010.  She has also served on the Historic Preservation Board, Planning and Zoning Board, and Recreation Board.  Additionally, she is a past president of the Belleair Civic Association and founder of the Belleair Community Foundation.

Other Activities

Commissioner Rettstatt serves as the Commission Advisor for the Planning and Zoning Board, the Building Board of Adjustment and Appeals and is a director on the Belleair Community Foundation board.  She also serves on the Tennis and Fitness Committees for the Belleair Country Club.
