Our Recycling Barrels

The town provides each resident, at no additional charge, a new 64 or 48-gallon, green recycling barrel with a lid to keep material dry and help control litter. This barrel remains the property of the Town.

What Can Be Recycled?

Residents are able to recycle many items to further reduce the waste going into the landfill. Please make sure all items are clean and empty. 

Recycle These Items

The following items CAN be recycled

  • Plastics (no styrofoam, plastic bags, or plastic wrap)
  • Plastic bottles
  • Wide-mouth plastic and rigid plastic containers
  • Cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Milk and juice cartons / juice boxes
  • Aluminum and steel cans
  • Empty aerosol cans
  • Newspaper
  • Mixed paper (if you can rip it, recycle it!)

Do NOT Recycle These Items

The following items CAN NOT be recycled

  • Styrofoam
  • Plastic bags
  • Plastic wrap
  • Wood
  • Metal (although paper clips and staples are okay)
  • Food waste
  • Construction debris
  • Light bulbs
  • Chemicals
  • Electronics

Disposing of Hazardous Waste

To dispose of household chemicals, electronics, paint, or other hazardous materials at no cost, look to attend a free Pinellas County hazardous disposal event.
